Manchester United have completed the signing of Nishan Burkart – a Swiss Youth Player.
The 16-year-old will be looking to impress Jose Mourinho in the coming months, although a first team debut may not be on the cards anytime soon.
The Manchester Evening News have reported that the youngster will be headed to the Red Devils to join United’s Youth Academy.
Nicky Butt, head of Manchester United’s Youth Academy, is looking to strengthen his side and possibly increase Jose’s options in the upcoming season.
According to M.E.N, Butt said:
“We’re short on a few numbers in the different age groups and it’s something we need to address.
“Something we are addressing and something we will hopefully get over the line in the next few weeks, in time for next season.”

Nicky Butt, being a member of the Class of 92, certainly knows what the club are looking for in terms of youth – and he will be looking to integrate the highly-rated Swiss player into the United academy.
Also quoted in the Manchester Evening News was Nishan’s statement after he joined the club, where he revealed the reason he wanted a transfer to the Old Trafford club.
“Pure gut feeling – the other clubs were also very interested.
“I visited each club and analyzed its infrastructure while there. I always knew; if I were going to move to a club abroad, then it could only be to England, my mother’s home country.”
However, Nishan is also aware of the dedication and hard work required from him at this particular club, and the amount of pressure the young striker will under.
“I’m taking a relaxed approach to it all,” he added. “If it doesn’t work out with Manchester United, the excellent training will still provide a fantastic foundation for launching a career at another club.”
Nishan joined Manchester United after leaving FC Zurich, where he was recruited as a Youth Player.
