Spanish Giants Line Up Moves For Draxler, Gomes And Hazard

With the £100m-rated Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba inching closer and closer towards a move to English club Manchester United, Real Madrid are left to come up with alternatives.

According to the Spanish newspaper AS, the Madrid-based club is eyeing 3 targets, in the form of Eden Hazard, Andre Gomes and Julian Draxler.

Belgian winger Eden Hazard had an underwhelming campaign for Chelsea this season, after winning the Player of the Season award in the 2014-2015 season. The 26-year-old is extremely talented, and is expected to make a strong comeback after a poor season. With his contract ending in 2020, he won’t come cheap.

Andre Gomes had a breakthrough season with Valencia, performing under all three managers they’ve had this season. He was one of the few things which went right for Valencia, who finished 12th this season.

He has had an average Euro 2016 with tournament winners Portugal. He can play an attacking midfield role, and he’s equally adept in playing deeper in midfield. At 22, he has plenty of room for development. Valencia value him at €50m.

The 22-year-old Julian Draxler has been named among the most talented youngsters for some time now. The former Schalke and current Wolfsburg player performed well for Germany in Euro 2016.

Draxler, who can play on the left side of the field, is equally effective as an attacking midfielder. Like Hazard,  he too has a contract expiring in 2020, and is listed at the value of €24m by the site Transfermarkt. The only issue with him is his inconsistency. On his day, he is brilliant, but on his off days, he is barely visible.

It has to be seen who moves where, but we can take joy to the fact that this is going to be a really interesting transfer window.
