Bookies Label Manchester United As Favorites To Sign Pique
Sports betting company, Ladbrokes, has slashed the odds of Gerard Pique rejoining the Red Devils from 16/1 to 10/1 – due to the increase in bets placed on Pique’s future plans.
Manchester United’s rivals from across town, Manchester City, have a 14/1 chance of landing the Spaniard.
A spokesperson from Ladbrokes made the following statement: “It might not be just Paul Pogba returning to familiar surroundings at United this summer, with the Reds now favorites to pluck Pique from Barca.”
Also, according to the Manchester Evening News, Jose Mourinho’s side are the favorites to sign the Spanish centre back – eight years after Pique left the Red Devils.

Jose Mourinho has already brought in a defender, Eric Bailly, to strengthen his side. But new reports suggest that United are still looking to toughen up their defense, as they look to challenge for the Premier League title under Jose’s leadership.
It is clear that the Manchester United board have not been satisfied with the club’s performances over the past 3 years – bringing in 3 new managers and splashing out over £320 million on transfers, with only an FA Cup trophy to show for it.
Mourinho has already secured the services of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Add to it the imminent arrival of Paul Pogba, and you are looking at a side that is ready to charge for the title.
But, with the Special One looking to bring Gerard Pique back to the club, Manchester United will be under pressure to win some silverware as they will need to justify all the revenue spent.
Gerard Pique, now 29 years old, played for Manchester United during a 4-year stay in England. Pique was initially in Barcelona’s Youth team, but he opted for a transfer to Manchester United in 2004.
The Spaniard made his debut for Manchester United in 2004, and played a total of 23 games for the club before returning to the Catalans in 2008 for a £5 million transfer fee.
