Adnan Januzaj is one players who fell short of Louis Van Gaal’s expectations last season; his fallout with the Dutchman resulted in Louis loaning the youngster to Germany’s Borussia Dortmund.
The Belgian play-maker broke onto the scenes during the David Moyes era, with Adnan scoring a goal on his debut – resulting in the media dubbing him “the next Ronaldo.”
However, since his debut, Adnan has not played with the flair and finesse that he showcased during his first match.
The Daily Mail report that Januzaj could soon be on his way out of Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho looking to loan the youngster.
Mourinho has also switched the youngster’s squad number.

Januzaj used to wear the iconic No. 11 jersey; which belonged to the Welsh Wizard, Ryan Giggs. Instead, Adnan now wears the No. 15 jersey, as announced by Manchester United.
But, Jose Mourinho seems to have started a new page with all the Manchester United players, disregarding their past. The Special One has even confirmed that Juan Mata will stay at the club after the English media speculated that the Spaniard would leave United.
Therefore, Januzaj will be given a fair chance to prove himself to Jose – with pre-season being Mourinho’s basis for decision making.
However, Jose Mourinho prefers a small squad. The Portuguese manager is believed to want his squad trimmed down to as little as 22 players, meaning that many players will face the axe.
Among the youth players who haven’t made it into Jose’s first team squad are James Wilson and Tyler Blackett. The pair aren’t even joining Mourinho during United’s pre-season tour.
Therefore, if Adnan Januzaj wants a future at Manchester United, the young starlet will have to impress Mourinho during the pre-season tour. Otherwise, Adnan may be sent out on loan, with Middlesbrough and Inter already interested in the Belgian midfielder.
