Italian News Sources claim that Paul Pogba will arrive in Manchester for a medical this Thursday, ahead of his record-breaking transfer from Juventus to Manchester United.
Amongst all the news and speculation over the transfer of Paul Pogba is this new development. The Il Tempo of Italy are reporting that Pogba will fly straight to Manchester United shortly after his holiday in America, so that he can complete a medical examination ahead of his switch to the Red Devils.
The Italian newspaper goes as far as to claim that the deal will be completed in a matter of hours – just as they reported a few weeks ago.
Paul Pogba has interested the Manchester United executives for almost the whole length of this transfer window, but the end seems to be in sight – although this isn’t the first time we have believed that statement.
Pogba himself has been tired of reading rumors regarding his future, and even posted a few updates on Instagram which mocked the way in which the media are portraying this whole saga. Even his agent voiced his opinion on twitter, saying that this is all a game between the English and Italian media.
The 23-year-old Frenchman is subject to a record-breaking £112 million switch to his former club. Manchester United will be paying Juventus a total of £92 million to part ways with Pogba, and will also pay Mino Raiola (Pogba’s agent) a massive £20 million for his part in this whole saga.
Pogba’s transfer fee will exceed the current record, £85 million, which was set when Real Madrid lured Gareth Bale away from Tottenham. However, in today’s market (where Higuain and Lukaku are £75 million), it seems a fairly good price.
Jose Mourinho is looking towards the French powerhouse as his final signing of this summer transfer window. However, he is also believed to be on the lookout for another, more experienced, defender to add to his current squad.
