Juventus Keeping Tabs On Premier League Duo

Juventus are keeping tabs on Manchester United’s Ander Herrera and Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas as they attempt to replace Paul Pogba, according to the Express.

Pogba sealed a record-breaking move to Manchester United last week, and his presence at the heart of the Bianconeri midfield will be a massive loss. Juventus are without star players Sami Khedira and Claudio Marchisio as well, and despite the signing of Miralem Pjanic, they remain short in the middle of the pitch.

As a result, they have been on the lookout for a midfielder, and are desperate to sign one before the transfer window closes on the 31st of August.

The Turin club have been tracking Chelsea’s defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic for a while now, but new manager Antonio Conte appears determined to keep the Serbian at the club. The 28-year-old was seen as the perfect replacement for Pogba, and was reportedly interested in helping Juve in their quest for Champions League glory, but the London club is refusing to listen to offers for the player.

Due to this, Juventus have now turned their attention toward Matic’s team-mate Cesc Fabregas. The Spaniard endured an off the pace season for the Blues last year, as his club finished 10th in the Premier League. However, he still has quite a few years left in him, and Juve are keen to bring him in.

Juventus are also interested in the possibility of signing Ander Herrera from Machester United. Herrera’s place in United’s starting XI is far from guaranteed after the arrival of Paul Pogba, and he faces stiff competition from the likes of Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Morgan Schneiderlin for a place in United’s team. Mourinho seems to like the Spaniard, but will not hold him back should he decide to leave the club.
