Balotelli Meets With Mourinho To Discuss Future

Mario Balotelli has met with the current Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to conduct discussions regarding his future, according to reports in England.

Mario Balotelli and Jose Mourinho shared a good working relationship during their time together at Inter Milan. The pair worked with each other at the Italian club for two years, and both moved on from the Serie A outfit following the conclusion of the 2009-10 season.

Mario moved to the Premier League, joining Manchester City, and played a big role in helping them win their first ever Premier League title.

However, after spending three-and-a-half seasons in England, the striker returned to Italy, joining Inter’s arch-rivals AC Milan. Roberto Mancini, Manchester City’s then manager, explained the transfer by stating that it was done for the good of the player, and that returning to Serie A would help Balotelli become one of the best players in the world.

It did help Balotelli, as the forward had a decent 2013-2014 campaign with Milan. But after spending just one season with the San Siro club, the 26-year-old returned to England, this time joining Liverpool, as a replacement for Luis Suarez.

But Mario hasn’t even been close to filling Suarez’s shoes, and has endured a difficult time with the Merseyside club. He was even sent back to Milan on a loan deal to get his form back, but the deal was far from successful.

And now, with his Liverpool career as good as over, the Italian’s future remains unsure.

Current Reds boss Jurgen Klopp did confirm that Mario will be sold, but only if the club receives an offer that’s good enough.

The German was quoted as saying: “Having six strikers is a little bit too comfortable I would say, but if anyone thinks that because we have more than one striker we will make presents for other clubs, that’s the biggest misunderstanding in world football.”

Amidst such vagueness about his future, Balotelli has reportedly met with his former boss Jose Mourinho, expecting the Portuguese to guide him and help bring his career back on track.

The meeting doesn’t seem to indicate that Jose has any intention whatsoever of bringing Mario to Manchester United. But with the wide range of contacts the Special One and his agent Jorge Mendes possess, the Red Devils boss will help the striker find a club with which he can return to his best.

And as per The Sun, Mourinho has reportedly advised Mario Balotelli to leave the Anfield club, and escape the Premier League, by considering joining the Wolves – a club where Jose has lots of friends.
