Valencia C.F. Seeks Rojo As Mustafi Replacement

La Liga side Valencia are targeting Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo, as they seek a replacement for Shkodran Mustafi, who is on his way to Arsenal.

As the transfer window draws to a close this week, clubs will be looking to wrap up their deals as quickly as possible in order to be ready for the upcoming season.

Shkodran Mustafi, who has already confirmed that he will be joining the Gunners this season, will be leaving a gap in Valencia defense, which the club hope to fill in with Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo, as per Plaza Deportiva.

The report goes on to state that the Spanish outfit are also looking towards Ezequiel Garay, Raul Albiol, and Sidnei, but Marcos Rojo remains their number one target for the summer.

Jose Mourinho has already made it clear to Marcos Rojo that his chances in the first team will be limited.

With the arrival of Eric Bailly, the revival of Daley Blind, and Smalling eager to play, it looks like Manchester United have sorted out their defensive worries from last season.

United have already won their first three Premier League matches of the season, and look set for an excellent first season under Jose Mourinho.

Therefore, Marcos will be hoping to leave the club as soon as possible if he is to play regular, first-team football.

Rojo joined Manchester United in 2014, and has since made over 50 appearances for the club. However, he failed to prove himself to Jose Mourinho, and has consequently been phased out of the first-team, along with fellow United star, Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The Argentine showed plenty of promise following his switch to Manchester United. He helped his national side reach the FIFA World Cup final, and even managed to feature in the FIFA All-Star team for the 2014 World Cup.
