Manchester United’s Will Keane Joins Hull City
Former Manchester United academy player Will Keane has completed his move to fellow English Premier League club Hull City.
Hull City announced the signing of the 23-year-old Englishman today, for a fee estimated to be around £1m.
The Manchester born youngster has been at United since he was 11 years old. Will, along with his twin brother Michael, progressed through the ranks at the Old Trafford club.
The youngster has represented England in the U16, U17, U19, U20 and U21 levels. He debuted for United U18s in 2007, and made his first team debut on 31st December 2011, in a 3-2 loss to Blackburn Rovers.
Despite being at Manchester United for so long, Keane only made three competitive appearances for the Red Devils. He recently scored in a pre-season friendly vs Wigan Athletic, but failed to score in a competitive match.
Will Keane has worked under Hull City’s caretaker manager Mike Phelan back when he used to be Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant at Manchester United.
Keane signed a 3 year contract with the Tigers, and expressed his joy in an interview.
“I’m delighted to move here,” said Keane. “It’s a fresh start and a new challenge for me, so I’m really looking forward to getting things underway.”
Hull City have also signed 31-year-old Goalkeeper David Marshall from Cardiff, and 25-year-old Englishman Ryan Mason from Tottenham Hotspur for a club record fee.
