Jose Mourinho is working towards increasing Sir Alex Ferguson’s influence at the Old Trafford club, according to Glasgow Live.
Despite being the most well known and influential member (among the players and fans) of Manchester United’s Football Club Board, Sir Alex Ferguson’s counsel has been consistently ignored by the members of the club’s Main Board.
The Main Board consists of the Glazer siblings Joel, Avram, Bryan, Darcie, Edward, and Kevin, along with the executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, group managing director Richard Arnold, and commercial director Jamieson Reigle.
None of these aforementioned names have any prior experience on managing a football club, and yet they have been deeming Alex Ferguson’s counsel with respect to footballing decision as unnecessary. And not only Sir Alex, but club legend Sir Bobby Charlton has been sidelined as well.

Ferguson was given full control on choosing his successor when he decided to retire as manager back in 2013, and David Moyes was thus chosen to lead the Red Devils. However, following the sacking of Moyes, the appointments of Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho were made without any major consultation of the Scot.
Such ignorance and limitations have led to Sir Alex growing frustrated, as he believes he can serve Manchester United in a much better way than being just the Global Ambassador of the club.
Jose Mourinho has therefore taken steps to make that happen, as he wishes to increase Sir Alex’s influence at the club.
The Portuguese has shared a good relationship with Sir Alex for many years, and believes that the legendary manager’s football knowledge and experience must be used to full potential if the club is to benefit and progress.
