Manchester United have been heavily involved in rumours linking Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann to the club in the near future.

In a recent interview with Squawka, Rio Ferdinand went ahead and claimed that he would love having both at the club together. When asked on who would be his choice, Rio answered saying: “Manchester United have got the money, I’d go get both.”

He further added” “They’re great players but I don’t think they’re comparable to be honest. They’re different players. Gareth could play anywhere across the front-line. He’d be effective anywhere – from the right to the left, central.”

Bale has recently signed a contract extension at Madrid, which will keep him there until 2022, thereby making it tougher for the Red Devils to get him. But Griezmann seems like a target very likely to be achieved by the English giants.

Manchester United are not short of big name attackers, after having signed superstar Zlatan in 2016 on a one-year deal. The Swede is most likely to double his stay after maintaining top form and fitness levels. He has bagged an impressive 19 goals in 30 games under Mourinho this season.

Ferdinand claimed that Griezmann would become their main #9 if he signed for the club, but maybe not so soon, seeing Zlatan’s form at the moment. The defender also emphasised how important it is for United to be a part of the deals if both targets become available in the summer.

Ferdinand is a United legend, and has won 6 league titles in 12 seasons at the Old Trafford club, appearing in three UCL finals and winning one in 2008, among many other domestic trophies and honours. Advice and suggestions from such a player are invaluable, and should be acted upon when the time comes.
