Manchester United To Offload Three First-Team Players To Fund Griezmann Move
Manchester United are considering selling three of their superstars in order to fund a summer move for Antoine Griezmann, as per The Independent.
According to several reports, Griezmann has already agreed to the personal terms with the Old Trafford outfit, and the Red Devils only need to meet the Frenchman’s buyout clause to lure him away from Atletico Madrid. But with the clause in his contract being worth near to £100 million, United will definitely be expected to break the bank to secure their top transfer target’s services.
To fund this move, the Manchester United’s hierarchy are reportedly planning to offload three of their first team players, first of which is Marouane Fellaini.

The Belgian was brought to Manchester by Sir Alex’s successor, David Moyes, back in the summer of 2013. But the midfielder has failed to make his mark at United as of yet and remains far from a fan favourite at the Theatre of Dreams. Moreover, with Mourinho having several talented central midfielders at his disposal, Fellaini’s departure in the summer certainly won’t come as a shock to anyone.
Alongside Fellaini, another first team player who could head out the exit door is Anthony Martial. The promising youngster remains out of Jose Mourinho’s favour, with the Portuguese preferring the likes of Mkhitaryan, Rashford, and even Jesse Lingard over the France international.
The player, as well as his representatives, are believed to be growing more and more frustrated with Martial’s consistent exclusion from the starting line-up, and Jose could be left with no choice but to sell the 21-year-old at the end of the season.

The last, and perhaps the most surprising player that is being reported to be on the verge of a summer exit is club captain Wayne Rooney. The Englishman has been linked with a move to China for quite some time, but these rumours may eventually turn out to be true if United decide to go ahead with this plan and cash in on their stars.
Selling these three players – who are currently finding it difficult to break into the Manchester United starting line-up under the Special One – would certainly help the club to acquire Antoine Griezmann’s signature by trumping all the competitors involved in the race.
