Croatian legend Dario Simic has tipped Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic to join Manchester United in the upcoming summer.

He has further fueled a spark by saying that he expects his fellow countryman to leave the San Siro outfit for a ‘Big European’ club. The 28-year-old former Borussia Dortmund attacker was tipped to leave the club last summer with Liverpool being mooted as a probable destination.

Perisic has been a star performer for Stefano Pioli’s side as he has scored nine goals in all competition and has further assisted three. Simic, who has 100 international caps for Croatia, has said that his fellow compatriot has enough quality that might see him playing in Manchester United shirt under Jose Mourinho.

“At Inter our guys Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic play a key role,” Simic told Croatian newspaper Vecernji.

“I expected Perisic in the last transfer window to go to one of the big European clubs.

“He definitely has enough class for the greatest clubs – I see him at Manchester United.”

This certainly has fueled the spark as one way or the other, Dario has claimed that Inter aren’t a European powerhouse anymore. But in fact, this might be true, as the Nerazzurri have lost their shape completely since the departure of Ibrahimovic, Schneider and Jose Mourinho.

Perisic, who is under contract at the San Siro until June 2020, does possess a quality as he can play anywhere on the front line – even as a striker – but in all fairness, Man United do not really need the 28-year-old.

What they need is a young and dynamic attacker who can replace the ageing legs of Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young, hence, with all due respect, Perisic isn’t the one Man United should go for.

With Inter lying in the fourth spot of the Serie A table, a qualification in the Champions League football might tempt the Croatian to stay at the club, but any lucrative offer from any of the Premier League giants will trouble Inter a lot.
