Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has told Le Parisien it will be difficult to reject a move to Paris Saint-Germain, despite strong interest from Premier League clubs.

22-year-old Bakayoko has attracted interest from a host of European clubs including Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea.

United considered a bid for him in the January window and are believed to be planning a move in the summer.

Bakayoko has helped Monaco to top spot in Ligue 1 and has served a key role in the midfield. The Frenchman has often been compared to Patrick Vieira for his dominant displays in the center of the field.

Mourinho and Conte are gearing up for a transfer battle to snap him up at the end of the season, but his latest comments indicate he would prefer a move to the French capital.

The French youngster grew up in Paris but emerged through the youth ranks at Rennes before joining Monaco.

“If the opportunity presents itself, I would not refuse to sign for PSG,” he said. “However, I am still only 22 years old and I feel very good with Monaco.”

Bakayoko has revealed that he had the opportunity to join the PSG youth setup but was persuaded by his father and brother to make a move to Rennes instead.

“The opportunity to join PSG’s youth academy was proposed. However, my father and my brother chose Rennes, the best youth academy at the time,” he said.

“Not joining PSG really hurt, I even had tears in my eyes.”

Monaco are currently three points clear of PSG at the top of the Ligue 1 table.
