Arsenal have been put on high alert after Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot revealed he would consider offers from ‘big clubs’.

Arsenal have always been keeping a close eye on Rabiot over the past few seasons, along with La Liga giants Real Madrid. The Frenchman, a PSG academy graduate, has netted two goals and provided three assists across all competitions this season.

Despite some exciting offers from some of Europe’s elite clubs the 21-year-old midfielder has stayed put at the Parc des Princes, where he has made 91 French league appearances since his debut in 2012.

But Rabiot’s latest comments will surely put Arsenal and Real on alert ahead of the summer window after the 21-year-old admitted he would be open to offers at the end of this season.

He told Europe 1 as quoted by the Dailymail: “I am under contract until 2019 and I do not think I am in a rush. Honestly, I am not thinking about that.

“If there are offers from big clubs, that obviously demands that they are considered.

“Clubs like Real Madrid, they are truly great clubs but, truly, the most important thing is the present and I am concentrating on what I am doing right now, that is the best thing to do.”

Rabiot can be a perfect midfield partner for Xhaka at Arsenal. Two guys over six feet tall who are solid, strong, and deft passers. The exciting youngster has always been a player who PSG wanted to build around.

But in the process of building around him, they demanded a bit too much patience and rubbed Rabiot the wrong way. He may be featuring for the Ligue 1 champions much more consistently now, but we have seen there has been some recurring episodes of bad blood between club and player on many occasions.

Rabiot is also holding off signing a new deal with PSG, so the summer window will be a great opportunity for his suitors to tempt him away from Paris.
