Red Devils without Wayne Rooney, however weird that may sound and seem, it is a possibility waiting to happen and hence Manchester United are reportedly in the hunt to find a player worthy of eventually stepping up in the massive boots of their current club captain and highest ever goal scorer.

This search has seen them join a transfer battle with fellow league rivals Chelsea for the wonder kid and Celtic star Moussa Dembele.

Mourinho is ready to fight his former club for the signing of French super striker Dembele as the club finds a class forward for the seasons to come.

Their top target so far is rumored to be Griezmann but that would cost a staggering £85 million and hence other potential options are being well scouted and analysed by the club.

Arsenal Striker Wants To Leave The Club At The End Of The Season

As per reports in the Daily Star, chief scout Jim Lawlor was present in Celtic’s game against Motherwell last weekend, where Dembele did his name no wrong as he netted in his 27th goal of the season.

However, this is more than a two horse race with Bayern Munich and Arsenal also present as clubs interested in the player’s signature as Tottenham were the team that failed to secure him last summer due to medical reasons. The player will be a £30 million bargain if Manchester United manage to grab their main man once the window arrives.

For now, the club skipper has committed himself to the Red Devils until the end of the season and when he hangs up his boots, we wonder if anybody will dare to fill them again in the manner he did.
