The Red Devils are currently in the 6th place in the points table, and have no chance of catching Chelsea at the summit but they are active in the FA Cup and also in the Europa League and Mourinho felt that the core of the squad is already at the club.
He went on to say that it was important for him to get his team to accept his methods and felt that having spent a season at the club, all he now needs is a ‘push’. The push being incoming transfers this summer.
“You reach a certain level of stability, you find your way to play, your philosophy and this is very important. We are stable in the way the team plays and we need one more push,” he said.
“The next push is the next transfer window. We didn’t use it in the winter and we are obviously going to use it in the summer and trust the players we have,” he added.
He also revealed that he is going to keep most of the star players in the squad at the club for another season and will only look to sign a couple of players at the end of the season.
“Like Mr Woodward was saying, we will keep a huge percentage of the players we have at this moment in the squad. We need the next push,” Mourinho added.
