Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants to sign Real Madrid duo Raphael Varane and Toni Kroos in the summer, according to reports in English media.

Jose Mourinho managed the two Galacticos while he was the manager at the Spanish club. He now wishes to give them a taste of Premier League football reports Don Balon. Kroos has recently signed a contract extension at Real Madrid.

But recent rumours have suggested that the German mid-fielder is unsettled at the Bernabeu. He was seen holidaying in England during the Christmas break, and United might look to cash in on Kroos’ interest in England.

Varane, who is still only 23, had also previously been linked with a move to Manchester United. The defender has been rated already as on of the best in Europe. Interestingly, Mourinho was the manager who handed Varane his Real Madrid debut.

The former Lens player has a contract till 2020, but Mourinho is looking to lure him to Old Trafford. This will add much solidity to a United defence that has seemed inconsistent at times.

Mourinho had a slow start to the season, quickly falling behind rival clubs. But Manchester United has picked up the pace since. They now have a realistic chance of qualifying for the Champions League. Keeping this in mind, the Portuguese is ready to spend heavily again in the summer transfer window.
