Manchester United are now looking at alternative signings after realizing the difficulty in signing Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid. According to reports, the Red Devils have now set its sights on Robert Lewandowski and Kylian Mbappe

Griezmann has been touted to join Manchester United for some time now. But with any prospective transfer being very complicated, the English club have made him a lesser priority, The Independent reports.  Even though personal terms were reportedly agreed with the Frenchman, United are now less keen.

Atletico have struggled to replicate their sublime form this season, and would not want the forward to leave. They also move stadiums next season and they would want to do this with their talisman in the squad. United will also have to pay his buy-out, which is complex in itself. Further, Manchester United now think the No.7 will hold out for a move to rivals Real Madrid.

This has got Mourinho looking at other options. Notable among them are Lewandowski and Mbappe. Mbappe has been in good form for Monaco, leading them to the top of Ligue 1. But the 18-year old might be pipped as transfer target No.1 by Lewandowski.

The Polish skipper is an established star and consistent performer. He currently is the second highest scorer in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich. This move might prove tough for United though. The striker recently signed a contract extension at the Allianz Arena. With Thomas Muller falling down in the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti, the German champions will want to retain Lewandowski. Mourinho would nevertheless look to test their resolve.
