Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo Faces Retrospective Ban For Alleged Stamp On Eden Hazard
Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United squad is getting weaker by the week.
The Red Devils crashed out of the FA Cup quarter-final on their trip to the Stamford Bridge on Monday. They were reduced to 10 men after Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera picked up two yellow cards in the first half for an accumulation of fouls on the Chelsea players.
This saw Antonio Conte’s side dominate the last hour of the game. However, a solitary goal from N Golo Kante was all they could manage but that was enough for the Blues to knock the defending champions out of the competition.
The manager can now turn his attention to the domestic where they have to work a bit hard to move into the top-4 come the end of the season.
Manchester United will miss the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ander Herrera both of who are suspended for the next to league game but the FA Cup quarter-final might now see them lose yet another player is Marcos Rojo.
Linked with an exit at the start of the season, the Argentine did a superb job in the middle of the defense earlier this season and is currently acting as the first choice left-back for the club.

However, he was involved in a tussle with Eden Hazard all throughout the game and a painful video has emerged after the game that shows Rojo stamping Eden Hazard on his face.
The 26-year old defender bought Hazard down with a normal infringement but he was captured stamping Hazard’s face while trying to step over him after the foul.

A similar incident involving Tyrone Mings of Bournemouth, who stepped on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, saw his banned for 5 games and it is understood that Marcos Rojo could receive a ban of a similar nature by the FA.
This will see Rojo miss matches against Everton, Middlesbrough and West Brom, where Mourinho will also not have either Zlatan or Herrera to call upon.
Manchester United themselves will face a charge of failing to control their players after the red card.
How big a loss do you think Rojo’s punishment could be for Manchester United this season?
