Chelsea to pip Manchester United for the signing of Real Madrid star this summer?

Antonio Conte’ side have been the most consistent side in the Premier League this season as they see themselves at the top of the table, 10 points off the Spurs in the second place.

They have all but qualified for the Champions League and the manager is now desperate to land some top quality stars in the summer to help his side compete with the best next season.

A few positions in the squad need to be strengthened and Conte has been looking at some of the biggest names in Europe recently. And one player on the radar of the English club, who can improve the quality in the backline 10 fold is Spanish defender Sergio Ramos.

A long-term target for Manchester United, Ramos has 10 goals to his name this season, 4 of which have won Real some crucial games. He was extensively linked with a move to Old Trafford in 2015 but a move did not materialize.

And according to reports from Spanish news outfit Diario Gol, Chelsea are ready to swoop for him in the summer.

Ramos, who is currently contracted with the Spanish outfit till 2020 will not be available on the cheap and the Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is not ready to sell him in the summer.

But Chelsea have reportedly already opened talks with the player and are determined to land him at the end of the season.

Bayern Munich and PSG are two other clubs interested in his services who have also registered their interests in the player but Ramos is reportedly leaning towards a move to the Premier League if he decides to quit the Bernabeu.

Chelsea seem to be desperate for the player as they are set to lose club skipper John Terry in the summer. Ramos could be a sensational replacement for the English star but do you think Chelsea will be able to land him in the summer?
