Europa League Quarter Finals Draw: Who Did Manchester United Get?

Manchester United have won two domestic trophies already this season under Mourinho, the Community Shield and the League Cup, and for a team undergoing a rebuilding phase, they have done immensely well to reach the quarter finals of the Europa League too.

The English giants now face an Anderlecht side in a two legged quarter final, which will not be easy as it takes them to 8 fixtures to be played solely in the month of April. As per reports in Espn, Mourinho reportedly is ready to prioritize winning the Europa League to qualify for the Champions league next season after beating Rostov in the last 16.

Their Belgian opponents will present a stern test as Anderlecht are top of the Belgian First Division on goal difference and reached the Quarter final stage by beating Apoel 2-0 on aggregate.

Manchester United can create history with the club if they win the title as they will become only the 5th side in the world to win all three major European club competitions while the other four sides to achieve this feat have been Ajax, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Juventus.

The other draws include Ajax vs Schalke as two former winners clash and Lyon face Besiktas after both have come from the Champions league exit this season. Celta Vigo will come up against the other Belgian side in the tournament, Genk. This is a good chance for the Red Devils to win the competition this term and there should be no real excuses if they fail to do so.
