Manchester United May Miss Seven First Team Players Against West Brom
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho appears to be having a serious headache right now. At a time when his men stepping into a terribly busy and crucial period to secure Premier League’s top four spot, united are actually hit by a series of injuries and suspensions.
The Red Devils might miss seven first-team players when they host West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday, as per a report from Metro. Of these seven, two are undergoing suspension, namely Mourinho’s main goal getter Zlatan Ibrahimovic and charismatic midfielder Ander Herrera.
Five other players who are injured are defenders Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, midfield duo Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini, along with captain Wayne Rooney.
Rooney was expected to be ready to return to action after sustaining a knee injury which sidelined him for the last three weeks. However, it now seems there is no guarantee if Rooney could be fit on Saturday.

However, Mourinho may have to impose even a not fully fit Rooney to fill the void in midfield. Of the remaining members, the only midfielder is Michael Carrick. Another alternative can be used as the last option and that’s deploying the versatile defender Daley Blind.
The latest reports claim Mourinho is still quite optimistic that Fellaini can recover in time. The towering Manchester United star left the Belgian national team due to a thumb injury in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Greece. Meanwhile, Pogba who is out with a hamstring injury almost certainly will be a spectator.
To note, the entire month of April the Red Devils will have to play nine matches. In addition to West Brom, the Red Devils will face Anderlecht twice in the Europa League quarter-final and Premier League games against Everton, Sunderland, Chelsea, Burnley, Manchester City and Swansea City are all making the situation worse.
