Chelsea’s highest ever buy till date has been of a certain player named Fernando Torres, and the way that worked out, the London club would want to change that stat this coming summer.

El Nino had cost them £50 million, and the club now aim to splash out a whopping £70 million in order to sign either one of Alvaro Morata or Romelu Lukaku, if reports from The Sun are to be believed.

Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo currently prefers Lukaku to return to the Bridge, after having signed him in 2011, before he left for Everton.

The Belgian striker is having the season of his life, and is currently leading the goalscoring charts in the Premier League, ahead of wonder names like Sergio Aguero, Diego Costa and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

However, manager Antonio Conte is on a different path, as he would prefer Spaniard Alvaro Morata to join the Blues, after having worked with him for a brief while at Juventus in 2014. Though they were together for only a month, it might be a reunion waiting to happen, caused by a spark in that period between the player and manager.

Such reports also bring in danger to the future of Diego Costa at the club, who almost headed for the exit after a bust up with the Italian boss. And if this story is assumed to be true, he might be heading back to Atletico Madrid once the summer arrives, with China not far away as a second choice.
