Manchester United could make a swoop for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, who has already opened talks with Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils are desperate for star attackers in the summer, and the manager has been looking at some of the biggest names in world football for a move at the end of the season.

Mourinho is ready to spend big yet again, and this might see him land at least one top class star, and according to reports today, they could be on their way to landing Welsh international Gareth Bale this summer.

The former Tottenham Hotspur man is in his fourth season at the Bernabeu and is integral to the plans of the manager for years to come.

However, according to Spanish media outlet Diario Gol, the pacey winger has already opened talks with Mourinho over a potential move at the end of the season.

The report claims that Bale was offered the talisman role when he joined Real Madrid from Tottenham, but that the player is now unhappy, living in the shadow of one Cristiano Ronaldo at the Spanish capital.

Bale has won two Champions League titles, a Copa del Rey, a FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup during his time with the Galacticos. But it is now understood that he is ready to leave all the success to start a new career back in the Premier League next season.

Zinedine Zidane is ready to let a number of players leave this summer, but has Bale in his long term plans. He will not be ready to let him leave, and United will have to pay record transfer fees to land him, but this report now suggests that a move is quite possible this summer.
