The winger turned striker has been in sensational form at the Stadio San Paolo this season, but is yet to reach an agreement with the Italian outfit over a new deal.
Napoli are reportedly ready to offer him a new deal which will see him earn twice his current weekly wages, but Mertens has decided to snub offers from the club in search of new challenges this season. His current deal expires at the end of the next season, so the Naples-based outfit have no other option but to sell him this summer if he does not pen a new deal.
Reports now suggest that the player and his representatives have been in talks over the phone with the Premier League outfit, and are convinced that it is a decent option for the attacker for the next season.
