Always known for his off the pitch antics, Memphis Depay actually got the better of himself this time.
His team, Lyon, were scheduled to welcome Lorient, and Depay, with his overdose of confidence, posted, what many players prefer to avoid before important games.

The shot backfired as the African duo of Majeed Waris and Benjamin Moukandjo helped Lorient thrash Depay’s Lyon 4-1.

The Dutch international had an average start to his new career in the French Ligue 1, but his form, overall, has just been a twilight. He certainly possesses an impressive stat of five goals and three assists in just 12 league games, but he is far from being a Premier League starter.
A lesson well learned!
