Manchester United are expected to enter the summer market in search for a new left-back, a centre-back, a central midfielder, and a striker.

With the Special One still unsure who his first-choice left-back should be, and the future of Luke Shaw at the Old Trafford outfit still far from secure, the Reds will make an attempt to sign the out-of-favour Barcelona defender Jordi Alba, according to several Spanish news outlets.

Furthermore, United have already been linked with a number of center-backs as well as central midfielders, and some of those names are sure to play at the Theatre of Dreams next season.

The former Chelsea boss also intends to improve the Red Devils’ strike force, and with attackers like Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe on his radar, the Stretford End faithful can definitely expect to see talented goalscorers getting added to their squad for the next campaign.

However, the report further adds that in order to raise funds as well as make room for the new signings, Jose Mourinho will be offloading a few of his current squad members, with club captain Wayne Rooney to be the most high profile player to head out the exit door at the end of the season.

Along with Rooney, the futures of Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young, Chris Smalling, Adnan Januzaj, Sam Johnstone, and James Wilson are also believed to be far from certain, as Manchester United look to put an end to their rebuilding stage by putting together a world-class squad, and return to their habit of winning regular silverware.
