Sergio Aguero is happy at Manchester City and is keen on seeing out the remainder of his contract with the club, according to his agent Hernan Reguera.

Aguero has been indispensable for City ever since he signed for the club from Atletico Madrid back in 2011.

However, Pep Guardiola decided to bring in Gabriel Jesus last summer, and although he only joined up with his teammates in January after spending the first half of the season on loan at his previous club, the striker has already made a big impression in the Premier League.

Guardiola decided to drop Aguero in place of Jesus and the Brazilian was quick to repay that faith, scoring key goals and setting up some as well. Injury disrupted the 20-year-old’s unbelievable start to life with the Citizens, and while he was said to be out for the rest of the season, he only ended up missing 15 games.

His absence for the team, however, gave Aguero an opening to prove his worth, and he responded with a magnificent total of 13 goals in those 15 games. Despite this, it wasn’t enough for Guardiola, and with Jesus now fully fit, the Argentinian was once again made to sit on the bench for City’s 2-1 win over Leicester at the Etihad – Jesus scored the second of the game.

Guardiola has openly admitted that Jesus will be City’s main striker from the start of next season, and this puts Aguero’s future at the Etihad in doubt. The 28-year-old is City’s all time top scorer, and has an incredible tally of 120 goals in 179 games for the club.

However, reports have begun circulating about a potential move away from the club – some of them even suggesting that a £55 million move to arch-rivals Manchester United – is on the cards. But now, his agent has quashed these rumours, and insisted that his client fully intends to see out his contract with the club.

“Sergio is happy at Manchester City. He has a contract and wants to respect it,” he told FCInterNews (via Sports Mole).

“There are absolutely no problems [with Guardiola]. Not only are there no negotiations with any other club, there hasn’t even been any chat or something close to that effect. These things are not true. I repeat: there is nothing.”
