Jose Mourinho is desperate to land Inter Milan attacker Ivan Perisic, and the Portuguese has launched a new bid to land him this summer.

The United manager helped the Red Devils to three trophies in his first season at the club, but he is evidently not happy with the options at his disposal at Old Trafford, and is looking for a squad overhaul this summer.

The fact that they have qualified for the Champions League has allowed them to scout for some of the best players in the world of football, and one player constantly linked with a move to the club is Croatian star Ivan Perisic.

Having had a tremendous season in Serie A recently, Perisic was one of the most productive players in the domestic league in Italy, and even at 28, is at the top of his game. He is an experienced and versatile player who can solve more than one problem at the club, and Manchester United have already had a bid rejected for him.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio now claims that Manchester United have returned with a new bid, which was yet again turned down by Inter Milan.

It is revealed that United made an improved bid of around €40m (£35m), but Inter Milan are still holding out on a fee of €50m for Perisic this summer. However, the report adds that much will depend on the player’s interest, and that Perisic may already have his heart at Old Trafford.

If the player is ready for the move, Manchester United might be able to land him at a far lesser price than the original €60m the Italian giants initially demanded for the 28-year old midfielder.

Do you think Mourinho should spend more than €40m on Perisic this summer?
