According to the reports in England, Manchester United are close to agreeing a deal for Fabinho.

The 23-year-old could be the third signing for the Premier League giants, after it was confirmed on Saturday that the club had already reached an agreement with Benfica over the transfer of Swedish centre-half Victor Lindelof, with further reports also suggesting that a £70m deal has been brokered for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

The Brazilian started his professional career with Real Madrid, and made his debut in 2012. He joined Monaco on loan in 2013, and spent two consecutive seasons with the French side before eventually joining them on a permanent deal worth £5.1m in 2015.

Since then, he has progressed rapidly, and in the 2016-17 season, Fabinho’s contribution from the heart of the midfield was vital for Monaco’s recent success.

Fabinho has played 53 games for Monaco in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and chipping in with 4 assists. His exploits have quickly popped up on the radar several top European clubs, but according to multiple reports, Manchester United are thought to be in the pole position for his signature.

The versatile starlet has already expressed his desire to play for the Red Devils one day.

“My objective is to get a club with the dimension of Manchester United – I have no clue one day, I’ll be a United player but I’ll keep on working so it stops being a rumour and becomes reality,” he told FourFourTwo.

The Brazilian could cost as much as £50m for United, and it’s been reported that they will try and wrap up the deal in the coming days. The player’s versatility would be a big boost for Manchester United, as he can play in the middle of the park alongside Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera, and could provide cover at right-back for Antonio Valencia.
