According to reports in France Football, Manchester United have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain star Serge Aurier, as the Ivorian wants to leave the French capital this summer.

Since joining PSG in the summer of 2015, Aurier has established himself as one of the most prominent right-backs in Europe. But there is no denying that the 24-year-old has often been mired in controversy, and his contentious nature saw him miss a Champions League fixture against Arsenal last year, after he was banned from entering the United Kingdom.

Despite being embroiled in a number of controversies, his performance at the right flank for PSG has always been ruthless, and as a result, he has been linked with Europe’s elite clubs, with Manchester United chasing him for may months.

In fact, reports in April suggested that Aurier had agreed to make a move to Old Trafford, but it was denied by PSG later.

Now, the latest reports in France state that the defender wants to leave the French capital this summer, and Manchester United will launch an offer for Aurier in the coming weeks.

Although Antonio Valencia had an incredible 2016/17 season, Jose Mourinho knows that the reinforcement on the right side of the defence is vital for United to claim success both domestically and in the Champions League next season.

Despite United’s strong interest, there is no doubt that the Red Devils will face a strong competition to secure the defender’s signature, as Italian clubs Juventus and Inter Milan are also interested in the former Toulouse man.

Following Daniel Alves’ imminent move to Manchester City, Juventus are on a quest for a new right-back, and it is understood that United have to offer more than the Italian giants to lure Aurier away from France.
