What’s the story?

As the Brazilian right-back says goodbye to Juventus after a highly successful spell, the player could well be on the way to Manchester if reports from Sky Sports are accurately true. The defender has been linked with a move to Pep Guardiola’s Man City, as the boss is keen to reunite with his favourite defender from the glory days of Barcelona.

Should the deal take place?

The player is currently without a club, and since he is one of the best in his role at the moment, many will be lining up to grab hold of him as early as possible. However, Alves was Pep’s number one right-back during the illustrious years of 2008-2012, and has since gone on and won a further Champions League title, and also a double in each of his three previous seasons. The defender has aged like wine, and will be an invaluable addition of experience and expertise to a desperate for success Etihad Stadium.

Possibility of it happening

The possibility of Dani Alves coming to the Premier League is extremely high, with it being 9/10.

2. Fabio Borini To AC Milan

What’s the story?

The agent of Fabio Borini can be one proud man today, as despite the player having an underachieving past couple of seasons, he is ready to sign for Italian giants AC Milan. The striker had a medical in Italy earlier today.

Should the deal have taken place?

The striker is expected to sign for the 5-time European Champions for a fee of £5.3m, which will see him complete an initial season long loan spell before becoming permanent next summer.

Despite being out of form for Liverpool and especially Sunderland, the player has managed to get himself a big club, and if his hunger of being a great striker rises again, the Italian team could have a good striker in their ranks for a very good bargain.

3. Andrea Belotti To Manchester United

What’s the story?

With Alvaro Morata’s deal coming to a standstill, the Red Devils have been linked to yet another striker in the transfer window, and Tuttosport (via Metro) suggests that Andrea Belotti is now the number one target in the red half of Manchester. Jose Mourinho and his side have apparently made a £62 million bid for the forward, as they look to bring in a high quality player in that role to the club as soon as possible.

Should the deal take place?

The player was one of Serie A’s finest last season, as he managed to bang in 26 goals during the entire campaign. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic gone and Wayne Rooney all but leaving too, a talented individual with such stats and a hunger for the back of the net could be an ideal solution for Mourinho’s worries.

Possibility of it happening

The chances seem slim at the moment, as Torino refuse to sell their main man for anything below the release clause of €100 million. But given United’s financial power and the name and status of their club, a 7/10 possibility still exists.

4. Kostas Manolas To Chelsea

What’s the story?

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via The Daily Mail) have added yet another player to the list of those linked with many of the Premier League’s big clubs, with the latest being Kostas Manolas.

The Roma centre-back was all set to arrive in Russia to sign a deal with Zenit for a fee of £26m, but his failure to show up for the medical has led to Roberto Mancini getting frustrated, thereby creating an opening for the London club to sweep in.

Should the deal take place?

Rumours have it that Antonio Conte is looking for a defender to replace John terry and Nathan Ake. The Greece skipper has emerged as the Italian boss’ number one target, and this interest has led to the player turning down negotiations with Zenit.

The 26-year-old has made over 100 appearances for the Serie A club, and is a rock solid wall to have in the back line of any team.

Possibility of it happening

The possibility of him coming to England still depends on the competition given by Zenit, and possibly Arsenal, thus giving the Premier League switch a 5/10 chance.
