RB Leipzig Reject A Massive Liverpool Bid For Naby Keita

RB Leipzig owner Dietrich Mateschitz has revealed that the club has rejected a £66m offer from Liverpool for their star player Naby Keita.

Despite the strong and persistent interest from the Reds, the Bundesliga runner-ups have remained staunch over their decision of not selling the Guinea international.

In fact, Mateschitz recently talked to German publication Bild about Liverpool’s latest offer for the talented midfielder, by stating: “Recently we got a 75 million euro offer for Naby Keita. No way! He still has a contract and he will fulfil it.

“To sell him would not only be a proof of distrust for our fans, but also a wrong sign for our other players, such as Timo Werner, who is also in demand.”

Keita enjoyed a successful league campaign last season, as he was instrumental in his side’s performances in the Bundesliga, that certainly exceeded everyone’s expectations.

It comes as no surprise that Europe’s elite clubs are interested in the 22-year-old. But with the club’s tough stance on his future, and his current contract running till 2020, the chances of a move away remain far from likely at the moment.
