Chelsea Plot Big-Money Move For Gareth Bale

Chelsea have emerged as strong candidates to secure the signature of Gareth Bale, according to the Express.

The Welshman has endured a few struggles of late at the Santiago Bernabeu, and his previous campaign was blighted by niggling injuries and inconsistent displays. As a result, Real have begun looking for replacements, and have been in the market for a new winger.

For the last three months or so, Monaco’s teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe has been at the center of one of the longest transfer sagas of the summer, with Los Blancos supposedly preparing a bid in the region of £198 million, which seemed ridiculous at the time, until Neymar signed for PSG in a £200 million move earlier this week.

Mbappe’s arrival would surely signal the beginning of the end for Bale’s Real Madrid career. With this in mind, the Premier League’s elite clubs have been on red alert. Manchester United’s presence was once again felt, but it appears that Chelsea are now favourites to sign the 28-year-old.

Antonio Conte is in search of a winger, and has been linked with Inter Milan’s 30-year-old wide man Antonio Candreva. However, they would obviously prefer a move for Bale instead, if the chance to sign him arises.

Chelsea have already signed Alvaro Morata from Real this summer, in a move said to be worth around £70 million. Whether Bale will join his former teammate at Stamford Bridge will probably depend on what happens in the case of 18-year-old Mbappe.

However, if the Welshman does move to Chelsea, he may not be well received by certain parts of London, due to his history with Tottenham Hotspur, who are the Blues’ local rivals.

How can you say that the arrival of a18 year old to RM would be the end of Bale’s career?? Bale is a winger, not a striker. Mbappe is also a winger but mostly a striker. so if anything, Benzema or ronaldo are directly under threat if he comes, not Bale. WHere is the logic in such assertions
