Manchester City fans’ level of excitement went several notches higher, after French starlet and Europe’s most-wanted teenager Kylian Mbappe fuelled speculation over a move to the English club on social media.
The Monaco forward posted a picture of himself on social media site Twitter, with City’s winger Leroy Sane, who joined the club last season. That wasn’t just it – what sent the fans on a frenzy was City’s new recruit Benjamin Mendy, who replied to the tweet.
Mbappe has been rumoured with a move away from Ligue 1, and City are one of the several clubs interested to land the Frenchman in a big transfer move.
The young forward was in England on Saturday to participate in a promotional event. City’s highly rated youngster Sane was also in Manchester for the event, along with fellow German international Ilkay Gundogan, where they met with fans for selfies and signings at the City Football academy.
The duo posed for a photo together, and Mbappe shared it on Twitter with the caption that read: ‘Nice to meet you bro’.
Benjamin Mendy, who made a big money move from French champions Monaco to the blue half of Manchester earlier this summer, replied to the tweet with a GIF image that teased the City fans. The excitement of the fans was palpable, as they took to Twitter and shared their thoughts.
