The French starlet is quickly becoming a sensation, having managed a ridiculous tally of 89 goals last season. He is already suiting up for Caen’s U17 team. However, rather than being compared to a player of his ability in front of goal, Wahi is drawing some stunning comparisons to Chelsea star N’Golo Kante in terms of their upbringing.
Both players originate from a small suburban area in Paris, and began their careers with JS Suresnes, a local amateur club, and both unfortunately lost their dads at a very young age.
The current U-17 coach of JS Suresnes, Piotr Wojtyna, was full of praise for Elye, and is hopeful that the youngster stays on the right track so that he “doesn’t spoil his gift”.
“Elye is a phenomenon in relation to his age,” said Wojtyna. “He is able to make a difference at any time with the ball. N’Golo Kante was an enormous man with great intelligence. Elye is a rough diamond that must progress on the mental side. This kid has a gift, I only hope he will not spoil it because the way is long.”
Apart from the two Manchester giants, fellow Premier League powerhouses Chelsea and Liverpool have also shown a firm interest in signing him, but the starlet will be forced to turn down a move for now, as he is not allowed to leave France till the age of 16.
