Premier League big guns Manchester United continue to be linked with talented players from across the globe, and the latest to join the list is midfielder Yusuf Yazici from Turkish side Trabzonspor. The 20-year-old impressed largely for his club last season, and has garnered attention from several clubs.
According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Jose Mourinho is said to be monitoring the player to bolster his midfield next season. However, United will have to battle it out with arch-rivals Liverpool, as the Reds are also keen to get hold of the youngster, despite signing Naby Keita, who will join them next season from RB Leipzig.
Yusuf scored 6 goals and bagged 10 assists for his club last term, and is touted to be a big game player in the near future. The young starlet could go on to fetch a sum of at least £12m, according to reports, and the likes of Liverpool and United will be happy to invest the desired amount.
Reports also state that the Turkish club is reluctant to sell their highly rated prized asset. Trabzonspor president Muharram Usta even went on to say that he is optimistic of Yusuf reaching the highest level at the club, and becoming its ambassador in the future.
Usta stated: “I want to see Yusuf here for our 50th year anniversary squad. He will be sold when the time is right, Yusuf will be an ambassador for the club and reach the highest level.”
