Manchester United have registered their interest in Tottenham forward Harry Kane, and are set for a record-breaking deal.

Jose Mourinho, a long-term admirer of the Englishman, has been pursuing him for a while, and is now willing to make a massive bid worth £170m. The Portuguese coach is keen on landing him, as he believes the skillful forward could collaborate well with Romelu Lukaku, and fabricate a more lethal offense line for the Old Trafford outfit.

United had engaged in an attempt to bring the English striker to the Theatre of Dreams two years ago, but their pursuit concluded wretchedly when Spurs chairman Daniel Levy refused to do business.

But as reports claim, Mourinho is determined on swooping the goal-scoring machine, consequently obliterating the Premier League transfer record in the process, as he eyes to be a dominant European force with United once again.

According to The Suna Mancunian source revealed: “The club had asked about Kane’s availability a few years back. They were told by Spurs there was no chance. Jose is a big fan and is very interested.

“Zlatan Ibrahimovic will move on next summer, more than likely, freeing up a load of cash they plan to use. The problem for United is the money could get to a ridiculous level. It’s going to be more than Kylian Mbappe. It’s money they can lay their hands on but it will be interesting to see what Levy’s stance on the whole thing will be.”

Kane’s current contract at White Hart Lane remains intact till 2022. The reported hike in his deal expected in the summer is to hold off the likes of United and Real Madrid. Regardless, at the moment, the forward seems to be contentful with his career at Tottenham, and is gratified to be on the scoresheet of the North Londoners.
