One United Player Is Getting Absolutely Destroyed By Fans For His Performance vs Chelsea

It isn’t often that you see a fan of his or her own club attack one of their most important players (unless you’re a Real Madrid fan of course). Usually, no matter how bad their favourite stars play, the fans are staunch in their backing of the players they set hours of their day aside to watch play.

However, if there is no sign of improvement, the fans eventually begin to lower their rose tinted glasses and start calling for the player to be dropped, especially if there is someone else much more deserving of a place in the starting XI who is biding their time on the bench.

That is the case with none other than Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the moment. The Armenian started the season looking like the man who got an insane tally of 39 assists in his final season with Borussia Dortmund two years ago, and was scoring important goals too.

However, over the last month, his form has dipped dramatically, and he has looked well off the pace. His creativity and influence on games has been very restricted recently, and he seems to have completely disappeared, so much so that it has seemed like United have been playing with 10 men at times.

While he is still getting all these chances and wasting them, Anthony Martial has just started 8 games this season yet already has 6 goals and 5 assists. Mkhitaryan, on the other hand, has started 13 games and has just 2 goals and the same number of assists as his French team-mate, all of which came in the first few games of the season, when he was in blistering form.

Against Chelsea yesterday, the 28-year-old vanished and had less touches than David De Gea before he was substituted early on in the second half. It was the boiling point for a number of fans, who brought out their inner keyboard warriors and took to twitter to get on the midfielder’s case.

Here’s what they had to say:
