The Premier League is often referred to as the home of the most beautiful and competitive football in Europe. And that status has played a huge role in the attraction of many high-profile players to England.

And now, Germany’s general manager, Oliver Bierhoff, may have just reinforced that idea, by accidentally hinting that one of the German players has secured a move to the English League.

The man in the question is Schalke’s Leon Goretzka, who has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga for quite some time, and rightly so, after having secured the Silver Boot and Bronze Ball whilst also representing his country at the highest level.

The young midfielder has established himself as a prolific figure in the Schalke squad. Despite being a central midfielder, Goretzka has already managed to register 4 league goals, whilst also stabilising his side’s structure. Some would even go as far as to say the 22-year-old year is reminiscent of a peak Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Consequently, elites of Europe have been left on red alert, eyeing the new German talent. European giants like Bayern Munich, Man Utd and Barcelona have been linked with the young starlet. But according to the way Bierhof let it slip, his destination is the Premier League.

However, it is still not clear which club the German is heading to, or whether this statement can be considered reliable. Nevertheless, regardless of which English side secures the Schalke star’s services, he would certainly prove to be a brilliant asset for the club.
