Jose Mourinho Wants To Sign Dortmund Midfielder In January
Marouane Fellaini has placed quite a conundrum on Jose Mourinho’s hands. The midfielder is in his final year of contract with Manchester United, and will be free to negotiate an exit with other clubs from January onwards.
With reports suggesting that the Belgian has no intention whatsoever of re-signing with the Old Trafford outfit despite Mourinho’s deep admiration for him, other measures will have to be looked at, and a possible answer might be waiting in Germany.

As per Independent, the Portuguese manager is eager to make the signing of Borussia Dortmund youngster Julian Weigl. The 22-year-old has impressed thoroughly in recent months, and that has brought him under the radar of an impending transfer.

The source added that Weigl was one of Mourinho’s key targets going into the winter window. However, it appears that the hunt for a left-back is more important for the Red Devils, and that a pursuit will be made for the German only if enough funds are left after the purchase of the desired defender.
With seven caps for his national side and a spell of good games in the Bundesliga, it is easy to see why Weigl might be under the radar of the tactical mastermind.
But it is more important to discern whether or not he’ll be an adequate replacement for Fellaini as well as how exactly he will fit into the current squad.
Mourinho is not a manager that is easy to reject, and Manchester United are as attractive a destination as any, and as of such, Dortmund will find it extremely difficult to keep hold of their starlet should a substantial attempt be made by the Premier League giants.
