It is clear that Manchester United need to act quickly and make signings in the winter window that will best aid their current plight.
With defensive signings and central attacking midfielder spots seemingly the priority at Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho might be all ready to welcome his first arrival in one of the spots.
As per Catalan outlet Sport, Manchester United have set their eyes upon Napoli’s talented left-back Faouzi Ghoulam.

The 26-year-old is believed to be the replacement for Luke Shaw, with the youngster, despite spirited performances in the last two weeks, proving unsuccessful in convincing Mourinho entirely.
Further, the price tag that United will settle at for the Algerian international is believed to be in the range of £53 million.
This goes on to highlight how desperate the former Chelsea manager is to secure his flanks, and give the likes of Shaw and Rojo some extra competition.
If the transfer goes through, it will also lift the worry off Mourinho if one of his current options happens to get injured, as is the case with Antonio Valencia at right-back at the moment.
The source added that United will elect this option with the possibility of losing one of their defenders as well, amid reports suggesting Daley Blind has emerged as a target for La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.
While the Catalans want the Dutchman as a replacement for China-bound Mascherano, Los Blancos are interested in the signing to fill the gap left behind by Pepe.
In the light of this speculation, it seems more and more likely that a left-back is most likely to make an early move to Old Trafford this January.
