The Brazil international broke the world transfer record when he switched to Parc des Princes last summer. A move which was more or less forced onto Barca saw one of their most high profile players leave for a gigantic £198 million.
It was quite evident that Neymar wanted to escape Lionel Messi’s shadow to make an even bigger name for himself, and thus, traded the sure-shot chance to win major trophies for a possibility to win his first Ballon d’Or.
However, according to the report by Mundo Deportivo, the 26-year-old forward now seems to be regretting his decision of leaving the Catalan club.

It was claimed by the Spanish outlet that the Brazilian ace spoke to his former teammates, along with the executives at the Camp Nou, and expressed his desire to return to Spain.
The episode took place before PSG’s Champions League Round of 16 2nd leg clash against the reigning European Champions, Real Madrid.
It was also reported that Neymar misses his ex-comrades at La Blaugrana, and admits his decision to exit Messi’s shadow was a stubborn one. Furthermore, the PSG star didn’t expect Ligue 1’s quality standards to be so inferior to that of La Liga.
However, the forward still intends to give one more year to the French giants, and thus, doesn’t intend to return to Barcelona in the coming summer. Although, Barca’s interest to bring their former star back to Camp Nou would play a major role in Neymar’s return.
