The last few days have seen some of the most electrifying match-ups across Europe, with comebacks being the core of every single game.

From Manchester United’s astonishing victory at the Etihad against their cross-town rivals Manchester City in the Premier League to Roma’s historic win against Barcelona at Stadio Olimpico in the Champions League, fans across the globe have witnessed some of the most heart-pounding games in recent times.

And yesterday night, the stage was once again set to showcase a behemoth fixture, as Real Madrid took on Juventus at the Bernabeu to secure a spot in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League.

With a comfortable lead of three away goals, Madrid looked all set to qualify for the next round, but Juve weren’t ready to give up without giving their best shot, and all it took was 2 minutes to fathom that the much-anticipated contest was going to be yet another thriller.

Mario Mandžukić’s brace and Blaise Matuidi’s goal at the one-hour mark completed a remarkable comeback, but a penalty late into stoppage time broke the Old Lady’s heart, as Cristiano Ronaldo smashed one in the top corner after Gianluigi Buffon was sent off for his conduct with the referee.

After the game, the hot topic was undoubtedly the penalty incident which Buffon ranted about to the reporters in the mixed zone.

And while the legendary goal-keeper expressed his discontent about Michael Oliver’s decision, Ronaldo stopped to interrupt the Italian’s interview, only to share a lovely moment with him.

CR7 hugged and consoled Buffon in the mixed zone while leaving the stadium, and said “perdón”, which in English means sorry.
