Rumours about Gareth Bale’s potential switch to Man Utd have resurfaced once more, but the player reportedly has a reason for wanting to make the switch this time.

Anthony Martial looks set to leave Old Trafford in the summer, having grown frustrated at his lack of game time and losing his place in the starting XI to Alexis Sanchez, who arrived at the club in January.

The Mancunian giants are reportedly willing to sell the French forward, which will open up a spot for a new attacking player to come in.

According to El Bernabeu, a Real Madrid related website, Bale wants to be that new attacking player, and is ready to bring an end to his time in the Spanish capital to do so.

One of the reasons being cited by the website is that Martial’s departure will also make the no.11 shirt vacant.

Before the young Frenchman, club’s legendary Welsh Ryan Giggs, who Bale grew up idolizing, wore the shirt number for the club for around 20 years.

Bale apparently sees that as a very important factor in a potential switch, and is ready to be the club’s new Welsh no.11.

However, the deal hasn’t been given the go ahead yet, and Bale is reportedly waiting to receive Mourinho’s approval. If it does go ahead, the transfer fee is likely to be in the region of €100 million.
