Brazilian? Jose Mourinho Hints At Man Utd’s Next Signing
It is rare for managers to openly discuss the prospect of their transfer targets, and rarer still for details to be given. Often when the matter is brought up, it is either hushed down in a press conference or else squashed entirely.
Despite that, Jose Mourinho has opened up about one player whom the club has been reportedly trying to sign from last season itself.
Chelsea’s Willian has been long viewed as the ideal replacement for Juan Mata at Man Utd. The prolific player has been an integral part of the Blues’ campaign, and is the player that has notched the most appearances for them.
As of such, what are the chances of him being signed by the Red Devils? Mourinho weighs in.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil, the Portuguese manager revealed: “I think a team without a Brazilian isn’t a team. I think their talent is fantastic and the creativity of the Brazilian player cannot be measured.
“I worked with Brazilian players in every team I coached, and I enjoyed a lot. Who knows, we can have a Brazilian in the squad next year.”

But regarding Willian joining, he had bad news: “I don’t believe it will be Willian, because Chelsea won’t make it possible.”

And rightly so, for the third season in a row, the Brazilian has notched double figures for his club, and this one is the best yet with 13 goals and 12 assists.
At 29 years of age, there is still quite a bit more he can offer to the London side, which might be precisely why they’ll be hard bargainers when it comes to any side vying for his signature.
With Man Utd being their bitter rivals, that might be even harder to achieve. Regardless, the key takeaway from this interview is that a Brazilian could be on his way to Old Trafford.
