Manchester United appear to be on the verge of finalising a deal for Juventus defender Alex Sandro.
Jose Mourinho is eager to end the Red Devils’ long-term issues at the left-back position once and for all, by bringing in the talented Brazilian wide-back in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to The Times, United are prepared to make an offer worth £50 million to defeat all the other parties interested in Sandro’s services, but Juventus are likely to hold out for a higher sum.
The Old Lady outfit will reportedly demand a fee north of £55 million, and if the Mancunians meet this requirement, the left-back could end up surpassing the likes of Benjamin Mendy and Kyle Walker to become the most expensive full-back of all time.

Mourinho is believed to possess a transfer kitty of £150 million for the coming summer. Therefore, to materialise a deal for the 27-year-old as well as generate enough funds to bring in new central midfielders and centre-backs, the Portuguese is expected to offload some of his current players.
While Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian are already very likely to depart from Old Trafford, the arrival of Sandro could also push Luke Shaw out the exit door.
Meanwhile, if United do meet their demands for Sandro, Juventus already have a replacement lined up, in the form of Leonardo Spinazzola. The 25-year-old, who spent the season out on loan at Atlanta, will be expected to slot into the Brazil international’s position right away.
