Manchester United are one of the richest clubs in the world, and it hasn’t proved to be very difficult for the English giants to sign some of the top players in world football for huge sums of money. However, even the rich need to make sane decisions when it comes to spending.
Since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United have been heavily criticised for spending the amount of money they have on bringing in new talents, which has largely worked against them, with no Premier League or Champions League trophies to show for their troubles.
Despite that, manager Jose Mourinho seems to be looking at a squad overhaul this summer, to ensure his team is ready to face the trials and tribulations of another grueling season in Europe.
But this time around, it seems that he wants to save as much money as possible while bringing in class players.
United are looking to use former Juventus scout Javier Ribalta’s tried and tested transfer methods to cut costs and make the most of their transfer deals.
Ribalta strategically ensured that players reaching the end of their contracts made it to Turin while he was at the club, and it resulted in huge success for the Old Lady.
Ribalta is widely credited with bringing in the likes of Alvaro Morata, Patrice Evra, Dani Alves, and Andrea Pirlo to the club, all of whom played massive roles in adding to the success of Juventus without necessarily burdening the treasury of the club.
Now, Manchester Evening News are claiming that Ribalta could pull of a similar feat in bringing players such as Jack Wilshere and Yaya Toure to Old Trafford for a minimal amount.
Wilshere and Toure are both free agents following definite departures from Arsenal and Manchester City respectively, and don’t be surprised if they end up at Manchester United through the ingenious transfer methods of one Javier Ribalta.
