Double Transfer: Man Utd Close To Signing Fernandes After Agreeing Maguire Deal
Manchester United are in all sorts of transfer progress if the latest reports are to be believed. The club has been pursuing deals all summer to a variety of results, but still, only have the signings of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to boast of.
It is evident that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wouldn’t have wished for business of this magnitude to be left pending this late into the window.
However, there are still positions that require reinforcements, despite the fact that their pre-season games have been a runaway success and displayed much positivity.
Now, the Red Devils seem eager to enter the final week of the transfer season with a bang.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, United are close to wrapping up deals for both Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes.
The journalist wrote on Tuesday: “After reaching an agreement for Maguire yesterday, the Red Devils are one step away from closing the deal for Bruno Fernandes, the negotiation with Sporting CP is in the final stages.”
This claim that the Maguire saga is sealed is certainly very promising news for the Red Devils, given that they have been pursuing the centre-back the whole summer.

In fact, just over two weeks ago reports claimed that a deal was in the bag but subsequent progress had indicated that Leicester City were holding out for a bigger transfer fee for the defender.
More recent reports suggested that Maguire had skipped a training session with the Foxes and is set on joining Old Trafford.
The Bruno Fernandes saga seemed to be taking a similar turn with United’s progress on the Portuguese midfielder’s signing being clearly exaggerated early on in the window.
However, strong signs have indicated that the Fernandes deal is inching closer to its end, with the 24-year-old slated for a medical soon.
